Man struck by vehicles while riding electric scooter dies of injuries: Edmonton police

Edmonton police say the rider of an e-scooter who’s been fighting for his life in hospital since a collision nearly two weeks ago has died of his injuries.
The Edmonton Police Service says the 49-year-old died in hospital on Monday, 12 days after the collision involving two other vehicles on 82 Street approaching 115 Avenue on the night of Sept. 24.

Investigators allege the man was riding north on 82 Street. While turning left onto 115 Avenue, police say the scooter moved back into the northbound lane of 82 Street and was struck by an Infiniti G37 driven by a 36-year-old man.
“The rider was dislodged from the scooter by the impact and was then struck by a southbound Chrysler 200 operated by a 30-year-old male,” EPS said in a news release.
The EPS major collision investigations section (MCIS) is still investigating.
