More homes hit the market in July: Realtors Association of Edmonton

More homes are being listed for sale in Edmonton, according to new data from the Realtors Association of Edmonton.

The data indicates that the number of homes sold dipped in July by about half a per cent from the month before.

But the number of listings surged, with nearly 4,400 homes hitting the market, which is down 7.8 per cent.

One real estate agent CityNews spoke to says this gives buyers power in the housing market throughout the rest of the summer.

“There’s more competition, obviously, with more homes coming on the market, so because of that, people can actually look at the homes and not worry about it being sold within half a day or something like that,” said Erick Yip, a real estate agent with RE/MA Elite.
