Alberta RCMP says they’ve taken a large amount of drugs off the streets following a week-long drug trafficking investigation.

On July 16, the Alberta Community Response Team executed a search warrant at a home in West Edmonton, a storage locker in Sherwood Park, and a vehicle in Edmonton.

From all three searches, police were able to find and seize the following:

  • 2946 grams of Cocaine;
  • 8 Grams of Methamphetamine;
  • 236 Oxycodone Tablets;
  • $65,810 Canadian currency; and
  • Numerous Cell Phones.

As a result, 22-year-old Shadi Almohamad was taken into custody and charged with three counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of proceeds of a crime over $5,000, and five counts of breaching a release order.

The RCMP says Almohamad was on a release order after being charged with three counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking in February.

Almohamad is expected to appear in court on July 23.
