Man in hospital following hit-and-run in Rossdale: Edmonton police

By CityNews Staff

Edmonton police say a 42-year-old man is in hospital following a hit-and-run Saturday evening.

EPS says around 7:10 p.m. on July 12, they received a report that a Toyota Echo that was heading east on 97 Avenue at 101 Street had experienced a mechanical failure.

Due to this, the driver stopped the vehicle between two lanes of the intersection.

Reports indicate that a Honda CR-V pulled behind the Toyota and the driver activated its hazard lights, and a Kia Seltos stopped behind the Honda.

The driver of the Seltos then got out of his vehicle and walked in front of it, when it was hit from behind by a Dodge Ram. The result of the collision threw the man onto the road.

Paramedics responded and the 42-year-old was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police are investigating the collision and are asking if anyone has any information or video footage, to contact investigators at 780-423-4567.
