Suspect charged with second degree murder; Chappelle woman died of sharp force trauma: Edmonton police

Edmonton police say the suspicious death that took place in Edmonton’s Chappelle neighbourhood earlier this week is a homicide.

An autopsy report by the Medical Examiner’s Office states that 45-year-old Ramona Bowen died due to sharp force trauma, and the manner of death was homicide.

Police have since charged Matthew Harper, 41, with second-degree murder. The accused is known to the victim.

On June 23, police located an injured Bowen inside a residence in Charles Bay and Charles Way. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
