Edmonton woman, 21, accused of assaulting 5 children at daycare

A 21-year-old Edmonton woman has been charged after five children at a daycare in Sherwood Park, east of the city, were allegedly assaulted earlier this year.

Strathcona County RCMP say the children, aged five to eight, were assaulted between March 17 and April 3 at Emerald Park Daycare.

Police say the children were not seriously injured, and no medical attention was required in any of the alleged incidents.

Strathcona County RCMP say they first received a complaint of an assault on April 3.

Navam Sharma was charged with five counts of assault. She is scheduled to appear in provincial court in Sherwood Park on July 9.
