Spruce Grove bear spray assault caught on video during alleged break-in attempt

Police west of Edmonton are trying to identify two suspects who allegedly tried to break into an apartment complex in Spruce Grove last week, including one who was caught on camera using bear spray on the building’s landlord.

Parkland RCMP say they were called to the report of a break and enter Thursday around 8 p.m.

Police say the suspects, a man and a woman, started leaving when confronted by the landlord, who was filming the incident on her cell phone. That’s when the man allegedly turned around and sprayed her with bear spray. The suspects then ran off.

Mounties have shared a snippet of the video – the moment when the landlord was sprayed.
