1 dead after reports of shooting in southeast Edmonton

Edmonton police say a man is dead following reports of a shooting just after midnight on Wednesday.

The Edmonton Police Service says around 12:38 a.m., officers responded to 16 Avenue and 65 Street.

Officers arrived on scene to find a 41-year-old man suffering from injuries. He was treated by paramedics, however, he was declared dead at the scene.

Edmonton police’s homicide unit has taken over the investigation, and an autopsy is scheduled for Thursday.
