AHS says measles is extremely contagious and spreads easily through the air.

Those who believe they may have been exposed are advised to monitor for symptoms, which include a fever of 38.3 C or higher and cough, runny nose, and/or red eyes. Additionally, a rash will appear three to seven days after the fever begins.

If you are experiencing symptoms of measles, stay home and call Health Link at 811. A vaccine for measles is available for free and should be received within 72 hours of exposure.
