The Alberta RCMP says four people have been charged in connection to drug trafficking near Westlock — roughly 75 kilometres north of Edmonton.
Mounties reportedly opened an investigation in July 2024, after learning that “potential suppliers” were believed to be around St. Albert.
As the investigation continued, the Westlock RCMP, along with the Edmonton Police Service, executed five search warrants on May 22.
During the search, police were able to find and seize 105.64 grams of cocaine, seven firearms, three forged identification documents, over $12,000 in Canadian currency, and 19 cartons of unstamped cigarettes.
The RCMP says as a result of their investigation, 39-year-old Michael Patrick Krysa, 28-year-old Nicole Bombay, and 27-year-old Austin McFarlane were all taken into custody and are facing various charges.
Krysa and Stephani have since been released on conditions and are both expected to appear in court in June.
“These arrests and searches have allowed us not only to remove drugs and weapons from our streets but also bring to account those responsible,” said Supt. Anthony Hanson, Acting District Officer for Eastern Alberta District.
