Man wanted Canada-wide in Edmonton lounge shooting now also wanted in 2020 murder

One of Canada’s most-wanted fugitives, sought by police in connection with a deadly mass shooting outside an Edmonton lounge in 2022, is one of two men wanted for murder in a homicide that happened five years ago.
The Edmonton Police Service has charged Saed Osman with first-degree murder in the Dec. 8, 2020, fatal shooting of 25-year-old Mahad Bashir Farah downtown. An autopsy the next day determined Farah died of a gunshot wound, and his death was a homicide.
Earlier this month, on May 8 – nearly four-and-a-half years after the shooting – homicide detectives issued warrants for first-degree murder for Osman and Amir Hussen, who is currently in custody for unrelated charges.

“We know no amount of time can ease the pain of losing a loved one,” said Staff Sgt. Colin Leathem of the EPS homicide section in a news release. “Our thoughts remain with the victim’s family and friends. We hope that these charges offer some measure of accountability and resolution.”
Osman has been wanted Canada-wide in relation to the March 12, 2022, shooting outside Edmonton’s Ertale Lounge at 124 Street and 118 Avenue. Police believe suspects fired roughly 70 rounds into a crowded area outside the lounge.
Imbert George, 28, was killed, and seven others were injured. Investigators described it as a mass shooting of innocent bystanders.
Edmonton police have arrested four suspects in that investigation, including a man who allegedly illegally sold a gun used in the shooting.
