Police seek occupants of suspect vehicle in fatal southwest Edmonton shooting

Edmonton police are looking for information on the occupants of a suspect vehicle in a February homicide investigation.

Jose Cruz Gonzalez Aceves, 45, was found dead Feb. 18 in the driver’s seat of a vehicle parked outside a southwest Edmonton home near 41 Avenue and Chappelle Road in the Chappelle neighbourhood. Police were responding to the report of multiple gunshots.

An autopsy determined Gonzalez Aceves was fatally shot, and homicide detectives began investigating.

Now more than two months later, the Edmonton Police Service is sharing the image of a suspect vehicle – a brown 2012 Honda Civic – believed to have been driven by two suspects in the neighbourhood prior to the murder.

Police say they have recovered the vehicle and are looking for any information on the car and its occupants that night.
