Edmonton police ask for help identifying cannabis store robber

Edmonton police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect behind two robberies of a cannabis store.

The Edmonton Police Service says the man robbed a cannabis store near 97 Street and 118 Avenue on two separate occasions last month — on March 14 then March 18.

In the first incident, police allege the suspect — who is roughly five-foot-five — demanded cash from the clerk, claiming to have a gun and reaching for it in his shopping bag.

Authorities released security camera photos from both the incidents, which show a man with face covering entering the store and at the counter.

During the first robbery, the suspect wore black clothes, a hoodie and sunglasses and a white mask. During the second, he wore a pink balaclava and carried a backpack. The suspect reportedly fled on a bicycle that day.

Police say anyone with information can call 780-423-4567or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
