Edmonton motorcycle rider arrested after high-speed pursuit on Whitemud Drive

Edmonton police arrested a motorcycle rider who tried to avoid being stopped by police, choosing instead to speed away and weave through traffic on Whitemud Drive.
The Edmonton Police Service says the motorcycle rider was caught going 180 kilometres pre hour after driving away from an attempted traffic stop.
Authorities did not specify when the high-speed chase took place, sharing a social media post about the arrest on Tuesday.

The rider’s movements were captured on video by a police helicopter.
“Looks like he’s gonna pull over,” said police helicopter personnel at one point, before the biker shot off. “Oh, maybe not, he’s gonna go. He’s gone.”
The rider eventually parked the bike in a nearby complex, where officers made the arrest.
Police say the initial traffic stop was because the motorcycle’s licence plate was covered.
