Police investigating suspicious death in Northeast Edmonton

The Edmonton Police Service (EPS) is investigating a suspicious death following a disturbance in the city’s northeast Sunday night.

Officers from the EPS Northeast Branch responded to a call around 9:30 p.m. near 118 Avenue and Wayne Gretzky Drive.

When police arrived, they found a 35-year-old man unresponsive at the scene.

Emergency Medical Services provided life-saving efforts before transporting him to hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

EPS has since handed the case over to its Homicide Section. An autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday, to determine the cause of death.

Police are asking anyone with information about the incident to come forward.
