Tensions between India and Pakistan continue to escalate.

    UP NEXT:

Voters say they've had no waits or issues casting their ballot for the next federal government. This comes after some advance polls reported hour-long wait times.

The Edmonton–Strathcona polling station is widely considered to be an NDP stronghold and possibly the only Edmonton-area riding that’ll light up in orange by the end of the night, but that is for voters to decide.

It’s a beautiful day here in the neighbourhood, lots of sunlight, no breeze, and most importantly, no lines.

“No line. Went for the advanced polls twice, and the lineup was over an hour,” said one voter CityNews spoke to.

Another saying, “You go in, bang bang bang done. We were in and out, what, less than five.”

“I waited for maybe two minutes. It was really easy, really awesome.”

Voters CityNews spoke to were glad to see the process move along quickly and seamlessly, adding that while the polling station is quiet, they hope it’s not an indication of low voter turnout.

“Get your butt over here. There’s nothing to it. I mean, the thing is, this is your right, if you don’t vote, you have no room to complain,” said a voter.

Another saying, “Don’t come back and complain later if you don’t use your voice today, because today is the day, right now.”

The polls here opened at 7:30 this morning and will close at 7:30 tonight.
