St. Albert man dead after shooting north of Edmonton

RCMP say a St. Albert man is dead after a shooting north of Edmonton early Friday morning, and police are investigating his death as a homicide.

Officers were called to the Morinville Estates Manufactured Home Community, in Morinville, Alta., about 30 kilometres north of Edmonton, around 4:30 a.m. They arrived to find the body of 37-year-old Shayne Fry.

Authorities believe the shooting was targeted, and they say there’s no risk to the public.

The Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit has taken over the case.
