30-year-old man dies after collision in Edmonton

Edmonton Police (EPS) Major Collision Investigations Section (MCIS) is investigating a fatal crash that occurred early Sunday morning, claiming the life of one motorist.
At approximately 8 a.m. EPS Patrol officers responded to a serious collision at the intersection of 114 Street and 75 Avenue.
Upon arrival, police located a male driver who was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to preliminary reports, a 30-year-old man was driving a 2009 Lexus RX350 westbound on 72 Avenue near 114 Street when the vehicle reportedly lost control, struck a tree on the north side of the road, and rolled.
No other individuals were injured in the incident.
EPS has confirmed that the Major Collision Investigations Section has assumed control of the case. Investigators currently believe that speed was a contributing factor.
The investigation remains ongoing.
