2 Alberta RCMP officers charged with dangerous driving: ASIRT

Alberta’s police watchdog — the Alberta Serious Incident Response Team (ASIRT) — says two RCMP officers from Parkland County have been charged in connection to a dangerous driving incident in 2020.

ASIRT says on Mar. 5, 2020, they were alerted to an incident that occurred on Feb. 25 involving a pair of Mounties.

Over the course of the investigation, ASIRT found reasonable ground to believe an offence was committed and forwarded the investigation to the Alberta Crown Prosecution Service (ACPS).

Reviewing the findings, ACPS determined the evidence that was found met the standard for prosecution.

Following this, on Apr. 7, 2025, Const. Debra-Ann Wash and Const. Dorian Tooze were charged with dangerous driving.

Both were released and are expected to appear in court in Stony Plain on May 21.
