A drug trafficking investigation in South-Central Edmonton led to the seizure of a significant cache of drugs and illegal weapons, following the execution of a search warrant at a residence in the Strathcona area on March 22, 2025.
The Edmonton Police Service (EPS) had been investigating 31-year-old Harley Salekin for allegedly trafficking large quantities of cocaine and other illicit substances.
Salekin faces nine criminal charges, including four counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of stolen property over $5,000, and unauthorized possession of prohibited weapons
Among the items seized were 2,900 grams of cocaine, valued at approximately $285,000, as well as 776 grams of psilocybin mushrooms, 765 tablets of LSD, and Tylenol 3s. Additionally, EPS recovered $142,000 in cash, proceeds of crime in the form of a $25,000 vehicle, and a number of illegal weapons, including a prohibited butterfly knife and brass knuckles.
Sergeant Ryan Busby of the EPS Special Project Team praised the thorough investigative work that led to the operation’s success. “Seizures like these help deter drug trafficking in our city, which is often the source of violence and other crime that affects Edmontonians,” he said.
