After 24 hours of snowfall, Edmontonians woke up to icy roads and slick conditions as the spring snowstorm continued.
Whitemud Drive and 23 Avenue were reopened Friday morning after being closed Thursday due to multiple collisions and poor weather conditions.

Between 8 am-8pm on Thursday, 184 citizens reported collisions, 36 vehicles were towed and 42 citizens reported collision severity.
The Alberta RCMP in a press release Friday morning reminded people to drive with caution, stating they responded to 147 motor vehicle collisions.
Several people took to social media to recount their experiences from being stranded on several city roads.
Some took to social media to share their overall experience with the surprise spring snowstorm.
A snowfall warning remains in effect for Edmonton, St. Albert and Sherwood Park, with up to 30 centimetres possible before snow is expected taper off Friday night.
City councillor Andrew Knack reminded Edmontonians to have patience with snow clearing.
“Typically, they always have to reset to the number 1 priority roads, so that means they don’t get so much to the other main roads,” said Knack.” You only have so many crews that can only be on every main road.”
Knack also reminded locals they can track where snowplows are online.
“The only time you won’t see a plow on that map, is around 7 in the morning and 7 at night in that shift change,” said Knack.
