Edmonton police arrest 3 men after alleged assault involving machete at Kingsway Mall McDonald’s

Edmonton police say three men are facing charges and a fourth is recovering in hospital after an aggravated assault involving a machete in the parking lot of the Kingsway Mall McDonald’s on Monday morning.

The Edmonton Police Service tells CityNews three men were reportedly fighting in the parking lot at 111 Avenue and 106 Street on Monday around 4 a.m., and one of the men was striking a fourth with a machete.

Police say all four men involved knew each other.

Authorities say the three men fled the scene together in car before they were stopped by police and arrested. They face charges including aggravated assault.

When officers arrived at the McDonald’s parking lot, police say they found the injured man. He was treated by paramedics and taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Edmonton police are still investigating.
