Urgent care services unavailable this weekend at East Edmonton Health Centre due to water leak

The urgent care facility at the East Edmonton Health Centre will remain closed over the weekend.

Alberta Health Services (AHS) issued a statement on Friday explaining that the closure is due to a water leak.

AHS acknowledged that unexpected closures can be difficult for patients.

“AHS understands that unexpected closures can cause stress for individuals seeking care. We are working diligently to complete the necessary cleanup as soon as possible,” the statement said.

“Staff will stay on site throughout the weekend to assist and direct any patients who arrive at the urgent care centre. AHS appreciates the community’s patience and understanding while this work is being completed.”

Alberta Health Services delivers a wide range of health services to over four million people in Alberta.

It is anticipated that normal operations will resume Monday at 5 p.m.
