Edmonton police are asking for the public’s help in identifying two men who defrauded a local senior of more than $30,000 earlier this year.
On January 30, the scammers, posing as bank employees, contacted an 85-year-old man and told him his credit cards were being used outside the city.
They instructed him to cut up his credit and debit cards, place them in an envelope, and wait for a bank courier to collect them.
Surveillance footage later captured the two men using the victim’s credit cards, accumulating over $30,000 in charges shortly after the pickup.
The investigation is ongoing.
Anyone with information about the suspects is urged to call Edmonton police at 780-423-4567, or dial #377 from a cell phone.
