Former high school teacher charged with sexual assault: Edmonton police

Edmonton police says a 32-year-old high school teacher has been charged with sexual assault.
EPS says on Feb. 8, officers received a report that a girl had been sexually assault by a 32-year-old man on a number of occasions between Feb. 2024 and Jan. 2025.
The report also indicated that the man was teaching high school classes at the time of the alleged incidents, however, the girl was not a student at the school where he worked.
Edmonton Public Schools confirmed with CityNews he was a teacher at M-E Lazerte School and is no longer employed there.
Police say on Mar. 6, 32-year-old Dylan James Shott was taken into custody and charged with luring of a child, sexual assault, invitation to sexual touching and sexual interference.
He has since been release with conditions, which include not having contact with a minor or communicating with anyone under 16, not attending a public swimming area, school, daycare, playground, youth shelter or public library, and is not to access any dating sites on the internet.
