Alberta RCMP say an 18-year-old from Edmonton has been charged in connection to a theft at a St. Albert Walmart in January.
Around 10:35 a.m. on Jan. 18, Mounties responded to a report of a theft in progress at a Walmart.
Reports indicated that a man had been seen putting boxing of sports trading cards into his backpack before leaving the store without paying.
Police were later told that the store had video surveillance showing the same man stealing sports cards on two other occasions during the same week.
The RCMP says that as officers arrived at the Walmart, a man believed to be linked to the theft was seen walking through the parking lot, and he was taken into custody.
Since, 18-year-old Rich Saah Anderson has been charged with three counts of theft under $5,000, and is expected to appear in court on Mar. 3.
The male suspect was walking east through the parking lot when RCMP members arrived and he was arrested without incident.
Mounties estimate the total value of cards that had ben stolen during all three incidents to be around $4,900.
