Man found dead in vehicle in southwest Edmonton died of gunshot wound: police

A man found dead in the driver’s seat of a vehicle parked outside a southwest Edmonton home last week was fatally shot, an autopsy has determined.
The Edmonton Police Service says it’s investigating the death of Jose Cruz Gonzalez Aceves, 45, as a homicide after Monday’s autopsy.
Officers were called to the Chappelle neighbourhood – at 41 Avenue and Chappelle Road – on the night of Feb. 18 after gunshots were reported. That’s where they found Aceves’ body in the vehicle; he was declared dead at the scene.
Police are asking anyone with information or video footage to contact investigators at 780-423-4567.
