Woman’s death in Strathearn was intimate partner homicide: Edmonton police

Edmonton police say a 30-year-old woman’s death at a Strathearn home this week is being investigated as an intimate partner homicide.

The Edmonton Police Service says an autopsy has determined Erin Kern died of multiple stab wounds.

Officers were called to the home on 95 Avenue and 91 Street around 10:15 a.m. Tuesday for the report of a man with a weapon and a possible deceased woman.

Authorities say the 36-year-old suspect fled before officers arrived, but he was arrested “a short time later.” The woman’s body was then found inside the home.

Police allege a 62-year-old man who was present at the home when police were called was also assaulted by the suspect. He did not report any injuries.

Homicide detectives have charged Drew Moore, 36, with second-degree murder and attempted murder. He has also been charged with breaching a release order and breaching a probation order.
