Man arrested after 30-year-old woman found dead in Strathearn home

Edmonton police say a suspect was arrested after a 30-year-old woman was found dead inside a home in the Strathearn neighbourhood on Tuesday morning.
The Edmonton Police Service says it’s investigating the death at a home on 95 Avenue and 91 Street as suspicious.
Officers were called around 10:15 a.m. for the report of a man with a weapon and a possible deceased woman.
Authorities say the 36-year-old suspect fled before officers arrived, but he was arrested “a short time later.” The EPS says it is not looking for additional suspects and there is no concern for public safety.
The woman’s body was then found inside the home. An autopsy is scheduled for Thursday.
Police say the man and woman knew each other but did not provide more details on the nature of their relationship.
Homicide detectives are investigating.
