New list reveals the top Edmonton workplaces for 2025

By News Staff

Many Edmonton workplaces are considered some of the best in Alberta – and there’s a new list to prove it.

MacEwan University, the Royal Alexandra Hospital Foundation, the Edmonton Catholic Separate School Division, Covenant Health and the Edmonton Police Service are among a large handful of Edmonton-area employers on the list.

Every year, the Alberta’s Top Employers competition reveals the 85 best workplaces in the province based on salaries, benefits, vacation hours, community involvement, flexible work options, and other perks.

Other employers with head offices in Edmonton that cracked the list were the Alberta Teachers’ Association, NAIT, Gilead, EPCOR, and the Edmonton Regional Airports Authority.

Nearby, the Strathcona County municipal government and a Fort Saskatchewan construction company were also recognized, as well as the St. Albert-headquartered Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis.

Meanwhile more than half of the employers on the list were headquartered in Calgary, including several oil and gas companies.

It was the fifth consecutive year on the list for the Royal Alexandra Hospital Foundation, which was recognized for its benefits plan and maternity leave payments.

“Thank you to @top_employers for this recognition as we continue our work to enhance healthcare in communities across the province,” the foundation wrote on X.

Also celebrating a fifth recognition was EPS, which was chosen, in part, for its fitness facilities and services, retirement benefits and refer-a-friend perks.

“We really value our people as individuals and we want them to have long, fulfilling careers with us,” Chief Dale McFee said in a news release.
