Starting February 1, Edmontonians will have to pay more for transit. These changes mark the first fare increase since February 2021.
Single-trip fares are increasing from $2.75 to $3, while cash fares rise from $3.50 to $3.75. The adult Arc monthly fare cap will be set at $102, up from $100. For seniors, the monthly cap will increase from $35 to $36, with the annual cap adjusted from $385 to $396. Ride Transit Program fares will increase by $1, depending on income levels.
However, youth fares will see a reduction, with the monthly fare cap dropping from $73 to $66. The youth fare age eligibility has also been adjusted to 18 years and under. This means riders aged 19-24 years who were previously eligible for the youth fare category will now be in the standard adult fare category.
Children 12 and under continue to ride free.
New pass options
ETS is also launching two new new Arc multi-day pass options: a three-day and a five-day pass for single riders, at a cost of $24 and $30.
The Arc multi-day passes can be purchased in Edmonton at Arc vending machines in all LRT stations and at the West Edmonton Mall and Mill Woods Transit Centres starting Feb. 1.
The Arc multi-day passes will allow riders unlimited trips for three or five consecutive days after the first tap.
