Pedestrian killed after being hit by 2 vehicles in north Edmonton; police say alcohol a factor

By News Staff

Edmonton police say a woman was killed after being struck by two cars after allegedly jaywalking at an intersection Tuesday evening. Officers are investigating whether alcohol on the part of the pedestrian is a factor.

Police say the pedestrian was crossing 82nd Street around 11 p.m. Tuesday at a location where crossing is prohibited when she was first stuck by a Mazda, then sent into the path of a Honda, which also struck the woman.

EMS pronounced her dead at the scene.

Police say both drivers remained to talk with investigators. Charges are not being considered at this time.

Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed or has dash camera footage of this collision to contact the EPS.
