Edmonton homicide detectives are investigating the suspicious death of a 46-year-old man in the city’s centre in October 2024.

On Oct. 20, 2024, Downtown Branch Patrol officers responded to assist EMS and Edmonton Fire with crowd control as they tended to what was first reported as an unresponsive man at 96 Street and 105 Avenue.

Officials later declared the man deceased on scene. However, after the medical examiner completed the autopsy, the manner and cause of death was not determined.

Staff Sergeant Andrew Larson with the EPS Homicide Section said, “While we await additional information from the Medical Examiner, the circumstances surrounding this death now led us to believe it is suspicious.”
