A Tofield RCMP officer fatally shot a suspect while trying to make an arrest in Beaver County on Monday.
Mounties say officers went to a rural home in Beaver County southeast of Edmonton at around 12:10 p.m. to arrest a man wanted on outstanding warrants.
Amid the arrest, the Mounty shot the male suspect. He died on scene despite life-saving measures being attempted.
No other RCMP members or neighbours were injured.
The provincial police watchdog, Alberta Serious Incident Response Team, is investigating.
