1 person hospitalized after explosion at Edmonton distillery

A person was hospitalized in stable, non-life-threatening condition after an explosion at an Edmonton distillery Wednesday morning.

It happened at the Strathcona Spirits Distillery near Whyte Avenue — on 81 Avenue and 101 Street — around 10:15 a.m.

Fire crews arrived to find a blaze at the back of the building. The fire was declared out within an hour.

On social media, Strathcona Spirits said everyone is safe, and they will share more information once it is available.
