Stony Plain Road reopens after two years this weekend

On Saturday, Stony Plain Road between 129 Street and 139 Street and the Stony Plain Road Bridge over Groat Road will reopen for traffic and pedestrians.

Officials say Stony Plain Road has been permanently reduced to a single lane of traffic in either direction.

Pedestrian access will reopen on the north and south sides of Stony Plain Road and across Stony Plain Road Bridge.

The section has been closed since April as Marigold Infrastructure Partners works on the Valley Line West LRT.

The construction work has been extensive including among other things, building a track bed and installing rails, and putting in sidewalks and permanent streetlights.
