Krispy Kreme to open first Edmonton location with free doughnuts, golden tickets and prizes

Krispy Kreme Canada is bringing its world-famous doughnuts to Edmonton this December.

The brand’s highly anticipated grand opening will take place on December 10, 2024, at its new location on 4614 Gateway Blvd. NW, offering a sweet experience for doughnut lovers in the capital city of Alberta.

The 4,600 square-foot shop features a Doughnut Theatre, where customers can watch Krispy Kreme’s signature Original Glazed doughnuts being made fresh, right before their eyes.

To celebrate, guests will receive a free Original Glazed doughnut and the chance to win exclusive Krispy Kreme merchandise, as well as a Golden Ticket—one of 12 grand prizes offering a free dozen Original Glazed doughnuts every month for a year.

“We’re excited to finally bring our iconic hot doughnuts to Edmonton, and we can’t wait to share this experience with our new neighbours,” said Levi Hetrick, Chief Growth Officer for Krispy Kreme Canada.

The grand opening festivities will also include the first person in line having the unique opportunity to turn on the Hot Light for the first time, marking the official launch of the Edmonton location.

As part of its commitment to the local community, Krispy Kreme has partnered with organizations such as Canadian Blood Services and Boys & Girls Clubs Big Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton and Area to give back.

Ahead of the opening, Krispy Kreme will also host surprise doughnut drops across Edmonton, giving locals a taste of what’s to come.

The new shop will be open daily from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., starting December 10. Krispy Kreme is also hosting a Job Fair on November 30 at the Travelodge on 45th Avenue NW, looking to fill positions for Guest Experience, Cleaning, and Traffic Control roles.
