Edmonton police say a 46-year-old woman who was critically injured in a collision on Yellowhead Trail earlier this month has died.
EPS says around 9 p.m. on Nov. 6, officers responded to a report of a collision on Yellowhead Trail near Winterburn Road.
Reports indicated that a recliner had fallen out of an older model dark-coloured pickup truck heading west.

After the recliner fell out of the truck, a Toyota Corolla, also heading west, slowed and collided with it. Following this it was rear-ended by a Chevy Avalanche, which reportedly failed to stop.
Police note that following the collision, the driver who had been transporting the recliner fled the scene.
Paramedics, along with STARS Air Ambulance, responded to the scene and took the woman who was driving the Corolla to hospital with critical, life-threatening injuries, and EPS confirmed Friday that she died from her injuries on Tuesday, Nov. 12.
“Sadly, this collision illustrates the tragic outcome that may result when a load is not properly secured,” said Acting Sgt. Jefry Knull with the Major Collision Investigations Section (MCIS). “If anyone witnessed this collision, has dash camera footage of the incident, or knows the driver of the dark-coloured truck, we encourage them to reach out to us as soon as possible.”
Police are still looking for the driver who was initially transporting the recliner. Anyone with any information regarding the driver of the pickup truck or footage of the collision is asked to contact police at 780-423-4567.
