Dismantled fentanyl ‘superlab’ was significant supplier of drugs in Alberta: ALERT

The Alberta Law Enforcement Response Teams (ALERT) says it took four days to dismantle an alleged fentanyl “superlab” that was found in Valleyview in October.

ALERT says the “superlab” is believed to have been producing bulk quantities of fentanyl for years, which had been a significant source of the drug supply in Alberta and Western Canada.

On Oct. 2, ALERT was joined by RCMP to execute a search warrant at the lab location.

After the warrant was executed, police spent four days searching the property and dismantling the lab.

Police took one man into custody last week. It’s not yet clear if he has been charged.

ALERT says more information into the investigation and lab dismantling will be provided Friday.
