Edmonton police says the intersection of 66 Street at 167 Avenue was closed for part of the day on Thursday due to a multi-vehicle collision.

EPS responded to the intersection around 11:35 a.m.

Reports indicate that a Dodge pickup truck was driving south on 66 Street when it drove through a red light and hit an Infiniti SUV that was heading east on 167 Avenue.

Following the initial collision, the Dodge then hit a Nissan SUV that was stopped in the northbound lane, waiting at the light.

A 44-year-old woman who was driving the Infiniti was taken to hospital for precautionary reasons. No other injuries have been reported at this time.

EPS says an investigation is ongoing, and at this time, it is unclear if charges will be laid on the 44-year-old driver of the pickup.
