After a body was found in a remote area in May, four men face charges of murder and accessory to murder, RCMP say.
Mounties in Fairview say they got a call about a body found in the wilderness by four bear hunters on May 25 at around 4:15 p.m.
The death was deemed a homicide after an autopsy was conducted on May 27. Police identify him as 54-year-old Wilfred Rever of Manning, Alta.
Peace River RCMP continued the investigation with the Major Crimes Unit, and on Oct. 23 and 24, Mounties arrested four individuals for murder.
Those individuals are 44-year-old Brooke Burton of Manning, 32-year-old Christopher Valin of Berwyn, 57-year-old Glenn Whitney of Fairview, and 57-year-old Guy Valin of Berwyn.
Christopher Valin faces second-degree murder and the rest face accessory to murder and indignity to a body charges.
RCMP also explain that the four arrested are not the bear hunters.
The four are in police custody and will appear in court on Oct. 28.
