2 charged after attempted kidnapping of man in Sherwood Park: RCMP

Two people are facing kidnapping charges after allegedly attempting to force a man into a vehicle in Sherwood Park two weeks ago.

Strathcona County RCMP say on Sept. 18 around 11:45 a.m., a witness observed an assault and the attempted kidnapping of a man on Cloverbar Road.

Mounties say the man was able to get away unharmed. The suspects, who police say knew the victim, then fled.

Sherwood Park residents Lorne Nadeau, 31, and Natalya Syskakis, 42, were charged with kidnapping without a firearm and assault. Syskakis was also charged with breaking and entering.

They were released on conditions. Their next court date is set for Oct.16.
