Edmonton police issue 902 traffic violations during latest “Operation 24 Hours”

Hundreds of traffic violations were issued during a 24-hour period earlier this month as part of the latest enforcement blitz known as “Operation 24 Hours.”
On Sept. 12, Edmonton Police Service officers and the city’s automated enforcement issued 902 traffic violations.
A breakdown of the violations:
- Speed: 733
- Red light infraction: 57
- Non-hazardous TSA infractions: 56
- Hazardous infractions: 37
- Distracted driving: 9
- Criminal code driving offences: 7
- Other criminal code charges: 3
