Edmonton police say an investigation is underway after three people fled from the scene of a collision after their car hit a truck Tuesday morning.

Edmonton Police Service officers were called to a hit-and-run collision at 99 Street and Whitemud Drive around 10:50 a.m.

A Ford truck was reportedly travelling south on 99 Street approaching the Whitemud overpass when a Cadillac sedan, travelling north on 99 Street, turned left across the path of the truck, striking it.

The occupants of the Cadillac exited the vehicle and ran from the scene, police claim.

EMS checked on the driver of the truck, who was cleared on scene.
