Autopsy confirms man found in Edmonton’s river valley died from a gunshot

Edmonton police have confirmed the death of a man who was found seriously injured in the river valley over the weekend is a homicide.

EPS says around 9 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 14, a man was found injured near 100 Street and 91 Avenue.

Paramedics attended the scene and confirmed he had died from his injuries.

The Edmonton Medical Examiner completed an autopsy Tuesday, and was able to identify the deceased as 30-year-old Brandon Lee Cardinal.

The autopsy also determined Cardinal had died from a gunshot wound, and the manner of death was a homicide.
