Crash involving motorcycle, truck in southeast Edmonton sends 1 to hospital

One person was taken to hospital after a crash in southeast Edmonton on Monday.

The Edmonton Police Service said Southeast Branch patrol officers were dispatched to a collision involving a truck and a motorcycle at 75 Street and 77 Avenue.

According to EPS, the motorcycle was travelling northbound on 75 Street approaching 76 Avenue in the third lane (the rightmost lane) when a truck travelling westbound on 76 Avenue turned northbound onto 75 Street in front of the motorcycle. The motorcycle rider locked up his brakes and laid the bike down.

The 43-year-old rider was taken to the hospital with serious, non-life-threatening injuries.

The collision is still under investigation, said EPS officials.
