Man killed after being hit by car in St. Albert

The RCMP in St. Albert says one person is dead after being hit while crossing a road Tuesday afternoon.

Mounties responded to a report of a collision around 1:20 p.m. that occurred in the intersection of Liberton Drive and Lennox Drive.

Reports indicated a Honda Accord was driving south on Liberton Drive when it hit a pedestrian who was crossing in the south crosswalk.

Police and paramedics attended the scene, and a 75-year-old man was taken to hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

RCMP notes the driver did remain at the scene and spoke to officers.
