RCMP identify man linked to threat at Sherwood Park elementary school

RCMP in Strathcona County say they’ve been able to identify a man allegedly responsible for a hate message that was left at a Sherwood Park elementary school on Monday.

Mounties say the man is a 22-year-old who lives in the town just east of Edmonton.

The school — Heritage Hills Elementary School — has been working closely with police since the incident was reported, and police say there was never a credible risk to staff or students.

RCMP say the investigation is ongoing, and if anyone has any information, they are asked to contact investigators at 780-467-7741 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
