RCMP looking into threat at Sherwood Park elementary school

RCMP in Strathcona County are investigating a threat incident at Heritage Hills Elementary School that happened on Monday.

Mounties say around 5:28 a.m., they responded to a report that a man had spray painted a threatening message on the Sherwood Park’s school sidewalk.

RCMP were able to obtain video footage of the incident, which showed a man wearing a balaclava and carrying a can of spray paint.

The video also showed the man appeared to have a limp or an injury to his leg.

Police are taking the threat seriously, however, they do not believe the safety of the school and staff is compromised.

RCMP are looking to identify the man responsible for the incident. If anyone has any information, they are asked to contact Strathcona County RCMP at 780-467-7741 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
