Multiple overnight lane closures starting Saturday on Quesnell Bridge

Edmontonians planning to travel on Whitemud Drive at the Quesnell Bridge overnight will not be able to do so for over a week as crews complete scheduled maintenance.

According to a news release by the City of Edmonton, maintenance work will begin on Saturday at 9 pm resulting in the closure of two of the four lanes in each direction for five consecutive nights between 9 p.m. and 6:30 a.m. The work will be completed on Thursday, August 15, at 6:30 a.m.

All lanes will remain open outside these hours and roadside signage will notify drivers of the upcoming lane closures, read the statement.

Access to the on-ramp at 149 Street and off-ramp at Fox Drive will not be affected. Detour signage will also be posted for the overnight closure of the Fox Drive Westbound to Whitemud Drive Westbound on-ramp, which will be closed nightly from 9 p.m. until 6:30 a.m. beginning on August 12 and ending at 6:30 a.m. on August 14.

The City has requested all residents to drive with caution during these closures.
